OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

You can choose to work one of the days or both days. Tentative travel plans include leaving Thursday or Friday and returning Saturday or Sunday (depending on your schedule preference). More information about travel will be coming later.

The links to sign up for each day are below.
You must sign up separately for each day that you want to work.
Please contact Pastor Byron at byron@fbcinverness.com with any questions.

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes go where people may not know Christ and invite them to follow Him. They offer children physical gifts and the Greatest Gift, a Gospel story booklet Samaritan’s Purse developed for shoebox recipients. OCC Shoeboxes are resources for outreach in orphanages and other at-risk areas. FBI collects items for the shoeboxes throughout the year and holds a packing party to fill the shoeboxes.
OCC has a workday on Thursday at 12:00 pm to help with the preparations for the Packing Party.  The Packing Party is in November and all filled shoe boxes are due the third week of November. First Baptist Church is an OCC Shoebox Drop-Off Location.
Every year, FBC Inverness also has a team of volunteers go the the OCC Processing Center in Atlanta to help process the shoe boxes on their way to children around the world.
Please see Events for more information about the upcoming OCC  Workshops, Packing Party, Collection Week, and the trip to Atlanta.

I-serve

One of our local mission projects is (I-Serve). It is usually organized twice a year in the Fall and Spring. During these service times, we look in and out of the church for people who need help. Whether it  be yard work, indoor cleaning, or even just going to visit someone who's been lonely or out of touch. We take this time to focus and help our Inverness community, showing Christ's love through our actions. Please contact Sarah Stalnaker at sarah@fbcinverness.com if you are interested in volunteering with I-Serve.
