Our Core Beliefs
Exalt
Believing in the Trinity: Father, Son, Holy Spirit
We believe in the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—working in perfect unity to bring about salvation and grace. Our worship is a response to this truth, where we gather to honor God and uplift each other. Through our morning services, we engage in biblically based teachings that guide us in living out our faith and sharing the love of Christ with the world. Together, we strive to exalt Him in all we do.
“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7
Equip
Discipleship & Biblical Counseling
We believe in equipping our church family for spiritual growth and ministry through discipleship and evangelism, all grounded in the Word of God. We prioritize biblical counseling for healing and restoration and value equipping our children in a nurturing environment, empowering one another to fulfill our God-given purpose.
“For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12
Evangalize
Reaching Locally & Globally
We believe in the call to evangelize and share the gospel with all people. Our commitment to missions includes Bible Club lessons for incarcerated individuals, correspondence ministry for them and their families, and overseas mission trips. Through outreach efforts like Operation Christmas Child, we seek to bring hope and compassion to those in need, fulfilling our mission to love and serve others in the name of Christ.
“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2
Engage
Life Groups | Men & Women’s Ministry
We believe in engaging our church family through meaningful connections and community. Our Life Groups foster fellowship and spiritual growth, while our men’s and women’s ministries, youth ministry, and children's ministry ensure all ages are equipped to grow in faith and serve others. Together, we create a vibrant community where everyone is encouraged to participate and contribute.
“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11

Our Leadership
Pastor Byron Brown
Lead Pastor
“I aim to be a radical follower of Jesus Christ and pray for FBC Inverness to unite in love and compassion, living out the Greatest Commandments while fulfilling the Great Commission.”
Byron, a lifelong Sooners fan from Southwestern Oklahoma, has degrees from the University of Oklahoma (BA, Sociology), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (DMin). His greatest joy is his marriage to Kim and their three children: Will, David, and Elizabeth.
Since joining as Senior Pastor in May 2016, Byron has served in various states and is passionate about preaching and missions. He loves leading mission teams to spread the Gospel and feels honored to serve at FBC Inverness alongside an extraordinary ministry team.

Pastor Adam Wuthnow
Associate Pastor
Adam Wuthnow has been in ministry since he graduated from The Crown College of the Bible in Knoxville, TN, in 2007 (BBS, Pastoral Ministry). He first served as a youth pastor and later as the pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Hesston, Kansas. During that time, he also worked as a teacher and administrator in a Christian high school. Adam loves spending time with his family and reading.

Pastor John Johnson
Pastor of Worship and Administration
After beginning full-time ministry in 1999, John joined the FBC team in August 2014. He has previously served as Pastor of Worship and Discipleship and is now serving as our Worship Pastor and Church Administrator. He and his wife, Carolyn, have been blessed with a wonderful family (two grown children) and have grown to love and set deep roots in this community. Their mission is to glorify God and help others see the joy of Christ in both their lives and their ministries.

Pastor Matt Pullen
Student Pastor
Pastor Matt Pullen is our Student Pastor, and he has proven to be gifted by God as a shepherd to this younger generation for such a time as this! He loves being around the students and is committed to teaching and training them in the Word of God—helping them cultivate a life of discipline and faithfulness according to God’s grace, love, and truth.
Pastor Matt attended FBC for five years before being ordained as a pastor and was brought on staff in 2024 after the body of Christ affirmed his call to ministry. By God’s grace, he will continue to let his roots grow down deep here at FBC for the sake of the gospel and the growth of Christ’s church. He is excited for what God has in store!
Pastor Matt is so blessed to be married to his beautiful wife, best friend, and ministry partner, Brittany Nicole Pullen, who serves faithfully here at FBC. Together, they are raising their five beloved—but wild—God-fearing sons!
